Legendary Chaka Khan has returned with a hot new single entitled, “Chakzilla.”
Bringing together dance/pop energy, with some humor, and a message for helping others.
Co-written by Sia and produced by Greg Kurstin.
“Anytime someone gives you kudos like that, it’s a beautiful thing,” Chaka Khan stated to PEOPLE. Who appreciates the recognition of her overall career — but her mind is set on the future. “I’m very much a forward thinker,” she adds. “I’m a real next girl.”
Looking forward to the new era, she stated, “I just am hopeful that everyone really likes the music and loves where I’m coming from with singing pop again, which I love to do. I just hope everyone’s really happy and really loves what they hear.”
Chaka Khan wrote “Chakzilla” with Sia, 50, who came up with the title. “I would’ve never thought of that,” she says. “She’s clever. She comes up with lots of ideas.”
The release follows major honors for the singer, including induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2025 and receiving the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award this year.
